The Founder of New York’s premier non-surgical medical aesthetic practice shares how to find the service and the service provider that’s best for each consumer.
NEW YORK, Feb. 18, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — For 25 years, VERVE Medical Cosmetics, New York’s premier non-surgical medical spa and anti-aging treatment studio has been helping clients manage the aging process with immediate, natural results through the use of injectables and fillers. As he celebrates this milestone, Dr. Stephen Bracci, Verve Founder and Medical Director, discusses what consumers should look for in identifying an injectable provider that best meets their needs.
“As men and women seek options for holding back the signs of aging, demand for BOTOX and injectables continues to climb. Unfortunately, so do stories about counterfeit ingredients and unlicensed providers,” said Dr. Bracci. “Knowing the right questions to ask can make all the difference in finding a provider and a procedure that is best for you.”
Drawing on his quarter-century of experience using only non-surgical injectables, Dr. Bracci suggests that men or women considering the use of fillers keep the following tips in mind:
- Ask to see before-and-after photos of recent clients and make sure the photos show desired results. Verify that the photos are of actual patients treated by the injector be seen during the appointment.
- Make sure the spa or clinic adheres to state requirements. Not every provider is legally able to administer BOTOX or injectables. RNs and Physician Assistants may do so only while supervised by a Physician. If there is a supervising Physician, be sure they are experienced with injectables.
- Make sure the cosmetic center is a clean environment and certifications are available. Ask if there is a physician onsite.
- Make sure the provider starts with a consultation to examine the facial structure and discuss options. Ensure that the injector answers all questions thoroughly and demonstrates competence with the materials.
- During the consultation, determine if injectables are the focus of the injector’s work week, preferably being their only task. Proficiency in injectables and keeping up with the latest trends is difficult if they also work in other medical specialties.
- Confirm the center uses a wide range of injectables and dermal fillers, not just a limited number of products. “At Verve, we use a variety of leading brand products like Hyaluronic Acid, JuvĂ©derm, Botox, Voluma, Belotero, Versa, and more importantly, Calcium Hydroxyapatite (Radiesse) and Sculptra (PLLA) depending on which product is best for the client,” adds Dr. Bracci.
- Determine if the provider will use a cannula or a needle during the treatment. “The key to getting the most natural look is placing fillers selectively in the subdermal layer, right below the skin,” said Dr. Bracci. “Most physicians use sharp needles for this delicate area, but I find that the cannula, a specialized thin flexible tube with a blunt tip gives superior results and less bruising.”
- Inquire about the policy for touch-up treatments.
- Be wary of exceptionally low prices. “While a lower price point may seem enticing, the price you pay for an educated, experienced injector will be the better route every time,” said Dr. Bracci.
